Design · Brand identity and logo design

A logo is not a brand. It's the easy part.

Starts at
$3,500
Typical timeline
3–5 weeks

We design brand identities for organizations that need to look like one company everywhere. You get a logo and a color palette. You also get typography and a short set of rules for using them. Your team can then apply the brand on its own. Nobody has to call a designer every time someone makes a flyer.

What’s included

  • Logo design. A primary mark and the variations you’ll actually need. That usually means a horizontal version and a small icon.
  • Color palette. Primary and supporting colors. We note where each one belongs.
  • Typography. Typefaces for headlines and body text. Sizes and spacing hold up on screen and in print.
  • Usage rules. A brand guide with clear space, minimum sizes and a list of what not to do with the logo.
  • Final files. Vector and web-ready formats. They’re organized so anyone on your team can find the right one.

How a project runs

We start with a conversation. We ask about yyour organization and your audience. We also ask where your brand will show up. Then we present a few logo directions. We narrow them down with you and refine the one you choose.

Once the logo is settled, we build out the rest around it. Color first, then type, then the guide. Doing it in that order keeps the identity consistent. Colors and fonts follow the logo, not the other way around.

Pricing and timeline

Brand identity and logo design starts at $3,500 and takes 3–5 weeks. The price moves with scope. A logo with a basic guide sits at the low end. A full identity with icon sets, templates or many applications takes more time and costs more. We give you a fixed quote once we understand what you need.

If your brand will also live on a website, we can design and build that too. Doing both together saves a round of handoff.

Proof

We handled the branding for YCIS, an international school in Silicon Valley. We’ve designed logos for Corelight and other clients. For the Open Compute Project, we created icons and event marks. That meant working across a large family of related graphics, where consistency matters most.

Questions people ask

How much does a logo cost?

Our brand identity work starts at $3,500. That includes the logo and the color palette. Type and a usage guide come with it. If you only need a logo, tell us. We’ll scope it to fit.

How long does it take?

Typically 3–5 weeks. The pace depends on how quickly your team can review directions and agree on one.

Do I need a full brand guide?

If more than one person will use your brand, yes. A short guide stops small inconsistencies from piling up. It can be a few pages.

Can you apply the new brand to our website?

Yes. We design and build websites on Shopify and WordPress. The identity carries straight through to your site.
